July 16, 2026 – The C.D. Howe Institute, Canada’s most influential think tank, is pleased to announce that it has received a $250,000 donation from the National Bank of Canada.
One of Canada’s big six banks, National Bank of Canada is directing this generous gift to support the Institute’s newly established William Robson Chair in Public Sector Governance and Accountability, named in recognition of President Emeritus William B.P. Robson.
“We are grateful to National Bank for its generous support and enduring confidence,” says C.D. Howe Institute President and CEO Jeremy M. Kronick. “This contribution strengthens the Institute’s foundation, ensuring that it can drive evidence-based policy reform and better outcomes for Canadians.”
National Bank of Canada is a long-standing corporate member of the C.D. Howe Institute, and its Chief Economist, Stéfane Marion, is a member of the Institute’s influential Monetary Policy Council.
