The C.D. Howe Institute conducts absolutely first-class policy research.  Its publications and recommendations are relevant not only for Canada and the United States, but also for world leaders on a broad range of issues ranging from energy policy to corporate taxation, to international trade, and of course to the proper conduct of monetary and fiscal policy.

The C.D. Howe Institute brings experts together in various fields to debate the big issues that impact the Canadian economy to advance outcomes for people. Their Roundtables offer a place for policymakers to work out challenging issues with industry leaders.

I am pleased to continue working with the C.D. Howe Institute, an important Canadian institution, and to serve on the Competition Policy Council in particular. I learn a great deal from the practitioners, academics and policy-makers that comprise the Council, and look forward to the next year of discussion and debate.
