Summary

Formerly the Chief Economic Analyst at Statistics Canada, his work at the Institute focuses primarily on the study of business cycles and economic indicators.

Mr. Cross had a distinguished, 35 year career at Statistics Canada. Prior to his appointment as its Chief Economic Analyst in 2008, Mr. Cross was responsible for writing the “Current Economic Conditions” section of theCanadian Economic Observer, which provides Statistics Canada’s view of the macro-economy.  He also played a leading role in ensuring the coherency and quality of data and research in the National Accounts and Analytical Studies.
