Summary

Tammy Schirle is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is also a Co-Editor for Canadian Public Policy, and a board member for the Canadian Labour Economics Forum. A member of the C.D. Howe Institute’s Pension Policy Council and Human Capital Policy Council, she previously served as the Institute’s Roger Phillips Scholar of Social Policy.

She completed her PhD in Economics at the University of British Columbia, and holds degrees from Dalhousie University and the University of Manitoba. Her current research focuses on the labour market activities of women, retirement income, and elder care in Canada. Her work has been published in peer reviewed journals including the Journal of Labor Economics, and the Canadian Journal of Economics and she is a co-author of the Canadian textbook Labour Market Economics.
