Tasnim Fariha is an accomplished economist and researcher with extensive knowledge of the Canadian and global economies. She has a proven track record of initiating and conducting in-depth research projects, analyzing emerging macroeconomic issues, and providing innovative solutions through advanced econometric and statistical methods.
In her previous role as an Economist at the Alberta Energy Regulator, Tasnim demonstrated leadership in data-driven publications and policy analysis, contributing significantly to governmental budget preparations and regional economic impact assessments. Prior to that, she was appointed as an Academic Fellow at the International Monetary Fund, where she conducted deep research, developed comprehensive reports and policy recommendations, and engaged with stakeholders across sectors. In her early career, Tasnim served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Dhaka.
Tasnim holds a Master’s degree in Economics from McMaster University. Her work has been widely published, and she has received prestigious awards such as the CGS-M and J.A. Bombardier Scholarship by SSHRC.
