Summary

Ian Irvine is a Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, Concordia University and a Fellow at the School of Irish Studies. He has been on the Faculty at Concordia University since 1978, and was promoted to Professor in 1995. He has also been an academic visitor at the University of Sydney, Australia, the University of Colorado at Boulder, the London School of Economics, the Economic and Social Research Institute in Dublin, and University College Dublin, Ireland.

Irvine’s current research interests focuses on tobacco-related issues and the development of the legal cannabis market. His work has been published by the European Economic Review, Economica, the Journal of Public Economics, Canadian Public Policy, the Berkeley Electronic Press, the Journal of Health Economics, the American Economic Review, and the Journal of Urban Economics.

Ian Irvine gained his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 1978.
