December 9, 2025 – The C.D. Howe Institute is pleased to announce it has received a generous $250,000 donation from esteemed Canadian business leader, philanthropist, and Chair of its Board of Directors, Blake C. Goldring, C.M., O.Ont, M.S.M., CD.

Executive Chairman of independent investment management firm AGF Management Limited, Mr. Goldring has been a member of the Institute’s Board of Directors since 2009, Vice-Chair from 2023 to 2025, and Chair since summer 2025.

Dedicated to supporting the Institute’s new premises, the C.D. Howe Institute is pleased to announce that its South Meeting Room at its new Toronto headquarters will now be known as the Goldring Meeting Room.

“We thank Blake for his support and guidance in building our new premises and fostering a space for new opportunities, ideas and collaboration,” says C.D. Howe Institute President and CEO William B.P. Robson.

Alongside his role with the Institute, Mr. Goldring’s contributions across the arts, education, healthcare and military sectors reflect his commitment to strengthening Canada.

Those contributions include founding and serving as Chair of Canada Company, a non-partisan charity devoted to supporting Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their families, and connect business and community leaders with Canada’s military.
